Your Job:

The Graphic Designer – Web is responsible for a majority of the ecommerce design projects and acts as an integral part of the talented group of Brooks Graphic Designers. He/she will specialize in web design, while also showing a willingness to take on many other challenging design projects.

Your Responsibilties:

• Collaborate with Sr. Marketing Web Developer to concept, design and develop smart and intuitive UI/UX and graphics for digital sales tools when campaigns require online presence.
• Support the Sr Web Developer with various tasks by taking over image uploads and routine updates of graphics.
• Design and produce creative that adheres to Brooks visual brand guidelines with feedback and approval from all relevant project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the ecommerce web developer to ensure consistent UI and UX when working within BR.com or MC.com.
• Provides ecommerce and marketing tools to visualize the upcoming creative (blackboard – C-Far Meetings)
• Maintain expertise in web graphic optimization that follows the latest industry and current platform best practices, and adapt as it changes.
• Effectively participate in brainstorming sessions and generate ideas through collaborative efforts.
• Develop fun, out of the box creative for a wide variety of projects that the department tackles, big or small, from idea through completion.
• Set up files and send to vendors for print.
• Meet and exceed scope and expectation of projects by carefully following brief and keeping open dialogue with project team.
• Carefully review and route vendor proofs, and ensure that all necessary parties have signed off so that vendor can move into production phase of project.
• Ensure that assets used are legally cleared, including, but not limited to, photography, illustrations and fonts, according to purchase/usage contract.
• Maintain steady project communication with project owner, and communicate well in advance of a deadline if there are any concerns.
• Report status to Sr Traffic Specialist on all projects during weekly traffic meetings.
• Manage own projects, and work within budget and scheduling requirements.
• Ensure that all files are saved in the correct server spaces at the end of each day, and are easily accessed by any team member at any time.
• Follow established processes for communication, file management, creative evaluations and project approvals.
• Help educate and support new team members and freelancers to ensure efficient onboarding, as well as consistent work habits within the department.
• Stay up to date with new web design techniques and trends through research and education. Thoroughly gain and maintain an understanding of the running consumer.
• May be required to do some travel for photo-shoots, occasional seminars, events, expos, sales meetings etc.

Requirements

• BA in related field preferred
• 5 - 7 years of professional graphic design experience, mainly for web and/or interactive
• Responsive design experience a major plus
• Excellent online portfolio showcasing diverse digital and design skills with attention to details.
• Proficient skills in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience working with Graphic Design and implementation of graphics for wide range of social media interface preferred, including experience managing assets.
• Ability to create and optimize web-ready graphics and digital images, without sacrificing superior quality graphics.
• Ability to communicate with front-end developers on current web technologies.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, including jQuery a must, understanding of cross-browser design issues and lean work-arounds.
• Experience working with UX, SEO, browser/platform capabilities, testing/bug fixing, and designing with an eye for how it would work digitally is important for this role.
• Previous experience working with PHP, mySql, HTML5 and CSS3, as well as WordPress and Demandware is a plus.
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment without missing deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company.
• Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all of the pieces fit together and affect one another.
• Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments’ operations and/or morale; “connecting the dots.”
• Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while also diplaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary.
