MANAGEMENT & REPORTING STRUCTURE The Director of Human Resources reports to the VP of HR. The Director of Human Resources has 5 direct reports, 1 Group Manager DC HR, 2 Corporate HR Managers and 1 Manager of Internal Communications.
POSITION DESCRIPTION Provide HR leadership and Generalists support across corporate and distribution center functions. Main areas of responsibility include organizational design, succession planning, performance mgmt, associate relations, corporate orientation and executive on-boarding and associate relations. Along with Generalists responsibilities the Director of Human Resources also oversees the internal communications function. Main responsibilities include the company intranet, newsletter, town hall meetings, change management communications and supporting major company initiatives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee Succession Planning for the Corporate office & DCs Ensures Org Design for all Departments is conducted consistently across the organization Responsible for all aspects of the HR budget for Corporate, DC HR and internal communications Responsible for all aspects of the performance mgmt process for Corporate and DCs Oversees all Associate Relations investigations for Corp and DC Approves all terminations in DC & Corporate, ensures corrective actions and 30-60-90 performance plans are utilized Responsible for corporate orientation and executive on-boarding Works closely with Group Mgr of Talent Acquisition to notify of potential recruiting needs at the corporate office Responsible for coaching business leaders on appropriate actions Oversees the companies reward and recognition program Responsible for all staffing levels and recruiting at the distribution centers Conducts all RIF at Corporate and DCs Responsible for improving culture at Corporate and DCs Responsible for keeping DCs union free Responsible for other duties as assigned or developed. Responsible for internal communications across the company o Enhance/ update the companies intranet o Create/distribute the company newsletter o Create/manage quarterly town halls o Provide communications support for major company initiatives

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of labor and employment laws in multiple states. Ability to solve a wide range of complex, multi-disciplinary problems which must consider short and intermediate term company-wide planning. Ability to compose sensitive, non-routine correspondence requiring tact and diplomacy and/or complex reports or summaries for which established formats generally do no exist. Ability to deliver presentations regarding potentially controversial issues, which involves negotiation. Ability to improve existing systems or procedures which periodically result in new ideas or approaches of considerable significance. 7 + years Human Resource experience in a generalist role in retail Bachelors Degree required
