Description :
Category Spokesperson – Be the voice of PRO. Reach out to the Consumer/Retailer/Trade (Safety Manager) through: Product Spotlight Focus Segments; Sales Product Training sessions; and participate as necessary in Focus Group exercises. Be seen by the greater Timberland organization as the expert in the PRO product category. Project Line Management – Create impactful presentations. Plan product design review meetings, pre-line close and line close. Presentation decks should include competitive landscape, current market trends/opportunities linked to original Merchandising Line Start premises. Include up to date cost, gross margin/forecast tracking, and product performance testing available at that time. Line Building - Bring Seasonal Merchandising briefing strategy to life and prepare for execution by design, development, engineering and marketing. Lead and manage the line planning, pricing, and gross margin management. Develop and execute seasonal bellwether. Approve seasonal buy ready and annual product standard cost sheet(s). Lead People – Manage, coach and guide the Product Line Coordinator regarding the line planning (PLM,TBS), sample management, leather / material requirements, component rings, legal/duty review and samples. Lead cross-functional teams through the decision making processes encountered in product creation and demand creation. Organize activities and allocate resources optimally to complete and/or resolve problems. Competitive Analysis - Research the marketplace. Analyze current product, consumer, and competitive trends in the market. Possess an in-depth understanding of the product, delivery and pricing needs of retail/consumer, and key market channels. Seasonal Mix SKU Productivity - Summarize annual carryover weighted margin position. Compiles, analyzes and monitors product plans by SKU productivity, recommends changes, modifications, improvements or deletions based on current market research, technical information and feedback given by field sales personnel. Expense Management - Manage and create CER production tooling process/budget including safety footwear certification testing, CSA annual fees (factory lab certifications, site visits) Buy Readiness –Sets and manages initial avail date process with value chain (CCMS) and PRO planning. Wear Test Products - Define product needs and coordinate and ensure timely delivery. Participate (as necessary) in product wear testing research with end-users. Licensed Product Overview - Assist in management of European licensed footwear and apparel business (Sperian) focusing on innovation, product design, construction, and brand appropriateness.

Organize Effectively – Work with director design and director development to create product creation calendar. Include sales and marketing key trade show and/or product events. Focus on Results – Sell in / Sell Through - Partner with Product Development/Engineering/Management Director to achieve revenue growth goals. Maintain and provide a clear form of documentation and communication with team members in order to bring seasonal efforts to fruition Influence Others – Engage and persuade others to change opinions or actions in a desired direction. Analytical Skills – Create, tabulate, summarize, and present findings. Communication Skills – Share information in ways that promote, clarify, and keep people informed.

IMPACT OF DECISION MAKING: High – Decisions have impact on the organization’s ability to achieve major goals and objectives. Travel – Ability to travel globally. Travel to trade shows, licensee head quarters, retail, and “Customer” job site locations as necessary for understanding functional/occupational needs and managing wear test program. Travel approx 25+%.
Requirements:
BA/BS Desired; 7 years of experience, Microsoft Powerpoint/Excel / Word / Outlook minimum; page layout and motion branding web accessible audio/visual capability preferred. Consumer marketing/product management along with experience in planning and merchandising. Analytical problem solver. Minimum of 7 years of product management/development or merchandising experience in the footwear and/or apparel environment. Understanding of the channels of distribution. Strong business orientation, analytical aptitude, retail math and computer skills. Proven experience in financial line planning, business planning and strategic planning a plus.
